We, the Permanent Deacon Community of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, guided by the Holy Spirit, prayerfully serve in the life and mission of the Church in communion with our Holy Father, our Archbishop and Auxiliary Bishops, other clergy, and lay ecclesial and consecrated religious pastoral ministers to meet the needs of the Body of Christ.

          Although we may be called to exercise our unique ministry in a particular setting, we always see it in terms of the needs and mission of the Archdiocese.  We therefore dedicate ourselves to the faithful proclamation and living out of the Word of God; to extending the care and concern of the Archbishop for the welfare of the local Church, particularly the poor; and to assisting in the evangelization of our communities and the wider world.

          Our hope is to be a vibrant people of faith, growing together as credible witnesses of Jesus Christ, sharing His compassion, building family among the members of our faith community, and fostering unity with our brothers and sisters throughout the world. 

          In pursuing lives of holiness, we will continue to nourish our spiritual development through the study of Sacred Scripture, reverent celebration of the sacraments, sharing in the Eucharist, and constant prayer.
