Purpose: St. Ann Adult Day Services, located on Catholic Charities' Jenkins Community campus, provides structured, stimulating activities for senior citizens, extending their support systems and meeting individual medical, social and spiritual needs. It helps older adults who are at risk for nursing home placement from becoming isolated. It also enables caregivers to provide older relatives with meaningful peer interaction in a safe, supervised environment. By providing respite for families and caregivers, and security and support services for older adults, this program enables families to stay together.
Answers for the Aging

Purpose: Answers for the Aging is Catholic Charities' free telephone information referral and counseling service for older adults, their families, friends and caregivers. Answers for the Aging is much more than a help line. The program's trained counselors carefully listen and help callers make informed decisions regarding healthcare, housing and community services. Often callers are overwhelmed by sudden needs and the prospect of trying to find answers and appropriate help from among hundreds of potential service providers, each with different application procedures, eligibility guidelines, and reimbursement sources. Callers receive guidance and qualitative referrals on hundreds of issues such as caregiving, assisted living, homemaker servicesk, pharmacy assistance, adult day services, transportation, respite care and Alzheimer's care.

Archdiocesan Choir of Baltimore

A large choir composed of organists, choir directors and choirsters from parishes throughout the Archdiocese. This choir sings for the Chrism Mass, for Ordinations and for other special events in the Archdiocese when requested to do so. Rehearsal schedules are mailed out to all members in the fall and spring with most rehearsals being on Monday evenings at St. Francis of Assisi Church at Harford Road and Chesterfield Avenue. Charismatic Renewal

Purpose: The Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church began in this country in 1967. It began simultaneously on several university campuses among the faculty and students and quickly spread to the general public. While affecting mainly Catholics, it also drew many Protestants and non-churched as well. As a movement the Charismatic Renewal espouses personal commitment to the Lord, fruitfulness in personal prayer, and scripture reading through power from the Holy Spirit, historically orthodox patterns of Christian living and community life. Dominicans Third Order
The Third Order Dominicans provide a way for laity (as well as deacons and secular priests) to follow the same spiritual path taken by many saints, blesseds, and other holy men and women, especially St. Dominic, our founder. Briefly, Dominicans--the Order of Preachers--are dedicated to serving "Veritas," or truth, through the four pillars of prayer, study, community, and apostolate (by which we "share with others the fruit of our contemplation," as St. Thomas Aquinas taught). Pope Benedict XV wrote of us, "Among the means of holiness most useful and opportune for the defense and progress of Christian faith and morals in our day, we recognize the Dominican Third Order as one of the most eminent, easy, and secure." Study topics tend to include such works as the Catechism, encyclicals, and spiritual classics, in addition to fully-developed postulancy, novitiate, and ongoing formation programs. Marriage Encounter is a weekend enrichment program for couples with good marriages to improve their communication and strengthen their marriage relationship. Presented by three married couples and a priest in an atmosphere of privacy (there is no group sharing), the weekend experience allows open and intimate communication between husband and wife. Marriage Encounter seeks to renew the couples’ appreciation of the sacrament of matrimony. Attended by over two million couples worldwide, it is the largest and most successful marriage enrichment program in the world. Purpose: The National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC) has its National Office located in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. While not a part of the Archdiocesan structure, the NBCC follows the policies of the Archdiocese and is supported in certain administrative functions by the Archdiocese. The NBCC is comprised of member National organizations, which represent African American Roman Catholics. The organization is committed to establishing an agenda for the evangelization of African Americans and to improve the spiritual, mental and physical condition of African Americans. As such, the NBCC is committed to the freedom and growth of African Americans as full participants in church and society. The Congress is further committed to evangelize ourselves, the church, our unchurched African Americans, thereby enriching the church. The NBCC is accountable to the call to the baptismal commitment of its people to witness and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. Participation in NBCC training and other activities is primarily through Diocesan Offices of African American Catholics.

A series of presentations are given on the weekend portion of the program, by three couples, who themselves successfully came through the program, and a Catholic priest. Established in 1958 with the blessing of Archbishop Francis P. Keogh as a local guild for Catholic lawyers looking to stimulate the practice of Christian precepts in the formulation and administration of law, and to promote the study of the Natural Law and its application to the legal profession. The Society's purposes today also include annual sponsorship of a votive Mass of the Holy Spirit, historically known as a "Red Mass," at which Divine guidance is asked for those discharging their responsibility in the legal profession; honoring, when appropriate, individuals who embody the example and principles demonstrated by St. Thomas More; sponsoring or conducting educational programs and activities; encouraging the study of the life and writings of St. Thomas More as an example of scholarship, sanctity and leadership for members of the legal profession; and providing a community of support for members of the legal profession who seek to center their lives on the precepts of the Natural Law, the example of St. Thomas More and a faithful relationship with God. Aim: The World Apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima is a Vatican-approved pious union striving to achieve world peace through complying with the requests made by Our Lady at Fatima. The Blue Army also conducts First Saturday vigils, weekly holy hours, and promotes the rosary and brown scapular. Speakers are available for talks on Fatima, and the film, "The Life of Christ, the Joyful, the Sorrowful and Glorious Years," is available for parish showing.
Young Christian Workers, Inc.
It is an organization of young working people between the ages of 18 and 30, who are in the work force or seeking work, and live in difficult conditions. The YCW develops integrated formation of young workers, helping them to live according to the model of Jesus Christ, through a mission realized in their everyday lives. Inspired by the Gospel and the Catholic faith, the YCW acts to improve life conditions of young works and also acts with other organziations to build a society based on jsutice, peace and fraternity. The whole movement is built up from teh base groups. They are groups of leaders, who meet regularly to review their lives and actions, to support each other, to share their friendships and faith, to commit themselves to taking actions in order to realize their aspirations to live in dignity.
