The Lumen Christi Guild was created to recognize those that provide leadership support to the Archbishop’s Lenten Appeal - to benefit more than 300 ministry organizations throughout the Archdiocese and beyond.

The Lumen Christi Guild seeks members who desire to give witness to the Light of Christ in the world. Through their compassion, generosity and leadership, they help to sustain the Church in carrying out its saving mission - to bring Christ to people and people to Christ.

The Guild recognizes the unique history of the Archdiocese of Baltimore as the founding See of the Holy Catholic Church in America. It celebrates the inspired generosity and vision of clergy, religious and lay people who came before us and nurtured the seeds of faith.

The Lumen Christi Guild seeks to attract those who are the inheritors of this legacy and recognize their crucial role in supporting the mission of the Church today. Lumen Christi Guild members have given leadership gifts to the Archbishop’s Lenten Appeal ranging from $1,000 to $50,000.

Lumen Christi Guild members have the opportunity to name their gift In Honor of or In Memory of a loved one. These tributes appear in the Lumen Christi Donor Report published after the close of the campaign. This report is distributed only to members of the Guild.

Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overcome you. If you walk in the darkness you will not know where you are going. While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of the light.”
John 12 35-36
