World Marriage Day
The Archbishop will celebrate a Mass on World Marriage Day, February 14, at 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. All married couples and their families are invited. A reception will follow in the Parish Center. The longest-married couples from each parish will be honored at the Mass, which is bilingual and interpreted for the deaf. Lenten Reconciliation Campaign
Confessional lights will be on for Catholics in the Archdiocese of Baltimore again this Lent as part of the Archdiocese’s campaign to promote the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Check with individual parishes for days and times and remember, The Light is on for You. Watch the TV ad.
Support Haiti Earthquake Victims
Catholics in the Archdiocese of Baltimore are asked to support victims of the Haiti earthquake by supporting collection efforts of their parishes and Catholic Relief Services. Dr. Rod Mortel, Director of Missions and the Haiti Outreach Project, is in Haiti and offers daily reports of his surgical and spiritual work there.
Blue Ribbon Committee
Following months of study by his Blue Ribbon Committee on Schools, Archbishop O’Brien will announce a plan for strengthening Catholic education in the Archdiocese, beginning with a March announcement of a plan to consolidate schools in strategic locations in the Archdiocese.
